Webhook write-back

What does the webhook do?

When someone adds a record through your app's form, SheetForge sends an HTTP POST request with the new row to a URL you choose. You can point it at a Zapier or Make webhook trigger, or your own API. Edits and deletions are not sent.

Setting up a webhook

  1. Build your app on the generator page
  2. Click Share and open the sharing options
  3. Turn on Webhook and enter an HTTPS URL
  4. Share the app

Payload format

SheetForge sends a JSON payload like this:

{
  "type": "new_row",
  "data": { "Name": "Alice", "Status": "Active" },
  "app": "My App",
  "timestamp": "2026-10-05T12:00:00Z"
}

Plan requirement

Adding records in an app needs the Pro plan.
