Write-back to Google Sheets

Editing & Write-back Updated 05 Oct 2026 29 views

Requirements

  • Plan: Pro
  • Source: an app built from a Google Sheet and shared
  • Google account: connected in My apps, with edit access to the sheet

Set it up

  1. In My apps, click Connect Google Sheets and allow SheetForge to read and edit your sheets.
  2. Build your app from the Google Sheet and share it.
  3. In My apps, open the app with its private edit link. Only that link can edit: your shared link stays read-only for everyone else.

How sync works

When you save an edited row, SheetForge updates the matching row in your sheet. New records are added as new rows. You will see "Saved to Google Sheets" in the app. Write-back is a beta feature, so keep a backup of important sheets.

Multi-tab Google Sheets

Each tab in your app saves to its own tab in the sheet.

Note: if the Google connection expires, reconnect it from My apps.
